Description

This true story begins with frumpy Manhattan celebrity biography Lee Israel (Melissa McCarthy) as her luck begins to change. Her cat is unwell, her job has just been lost and she’s received an eviction warning meaning that she needs to make some money, and fast. She turns her creative hand to forging letters from well-known writers to earn a living. It works, but after getting her best friend Jack (Richard E. Grant) to help her stave off the authorities, it seems this money-making deception is drawing glances from all the wrong places.
